The majority owners of Championship club, Stoke Holdings, based in Reykjavik, Iceland, has decided to sell out. Stoke Holdings has held 60% of Stoke City since November 1999. According to media reports, the consortium’s chairman Magnus Kristinsson stated early in the week Stoke Holdings would provide no more financial support for the club as long as Tony Pulis remained as the manager. Club chairman Gunnar Gislason said “Stoke Holding will continue to financially support the club until a sale has been completed, a process which will take a number of months and even go beyond the end of next season.”
