Hammam not welcome back at Cardiff City

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
There is no place for Sam Hammam at Welsh Cardiff City.

Not through company Langston, not through any means. The former club chairman will retain the "former" portion of his title. PMG, the company that is the major investor in the club, backs Peter Risdale, who took over for Hammam.

Hammam has represented Langston at meetings. The company has called in a loan marker, saying it must be paid in full. Risdale and the club have felt the loan was not due until 2016.

The loans came during Hammam's tenure. They were valued at GBP 24 million. And now he is working closely with that company. The case has gone to high court, and the club should find out its new court date today.

"For the avoidance of doubt, Cardiff City are totally committed to repay Langston in full," PMG director Mike Hall said to the South Wales Echo. "But there is no way we will ever entertain Sam Hammam or Langston having anything to do with the running of the club.

"Paul Guy and I have no axe to grind with Sam Hammam or Langston. There is no personal grievance. We would always be happy to meet representatives of Langston."
