Derby County mulls bid by unknown consortium

English Derby County refused GPB 20 million for a takeover of the club but another unknown consortium offered GBP 30 million and that offer is being considered.

The club is in last place of the Premier League with just one point from its first five matches.

Although it is being denied, rumours suggest that manager Billy Davies may leave the club. Davies threatened to leave after last season but he did recently sign a one-year extension to his contract that will end in 2010.

Davies has been linked to the vacant manager position at Championship club English Leicester that Martin Allen recently left.

Besides being in last place, Derby County gave up15 goals in its five league matches, including a 6-0 loss against English Liverpool.

The club is out of the race for the Carling Cup after a defeat to English Blackpool last month due to penalties.
