Triesman confirmed as new FA chair

The English Football Association made its perfunctory approval of Lord Triesman as its first independent chairman.
Triesman, who will stand down from his role in parliament, won board support in December as the top candidate. The Burns Review recommended an independent chair in its findings.
"Having the trust of the people who lead English football gives me an opportunity to develop the game in England at all levels and ensure its future success," Triesman said.
