Despite being on the job for a year, Celta Vigo president Carlos Mouriño wants to put the future of the Spanish club to a referendum.
Mouriño wants to introduce a new structure and model for the club to improve performance on the pitch. He has modeled it on what he calls an "English" style of structure.
"I have a proposal which I want to present to the club members and see if they accept it," he said. "It's based on English clubs where coaches and managers stay in their job a long time with the risks associated with that. I want to ask the fans if they're willing to accept that and to have patience.
"I'm looking for a playing style and the ideal coach for it, and then between the coach and the sports director they can choose the most suitable footballers for the system so we have security going forward. You don't achieve this in a couple of seasons, you have to wait two or three, but you also need the support of the fans."
